That would be a false police report as AA will happily give him the bag if he goes to the airport.
AA offered OP a hotel and transportation the next day. There is nothing in that which state they will transport a bag to his house or that WN would pay for it.
OP is entitled to a refund for the canceled flight. AA might offer more, but nothing in C of C's would indicate they are responsible for shipment of baggage to OP's residence
