Star alliance is shifting to a dynamic award system. It's been a year that the discussions has started and recently united just announced dynamic pricing on its metal starting in November. looks like Lufthansa group gonna follow soon (see article on forbes) and i guess Air Canada is not gonna be far behind.
if you have the miles, just burn them as quick as you can.
