The only way a bad guy should have a gun with which to engage in a gunfight with under our current system is to take it from the FAM. I think what I'm arguing is that we should eliminate that possibility.
If you read the papers or the Govt. review they have @ a 65% fail rate at finding weapons.. This is better than the 85% fail rate of wackenhut and the contractors we had pre-9/11..
Bottom line is that you can get weapons onto aircraft.. So you don't bring fists to a knife fight..
