Just spent two nights here and I've got a few thoughts.

First, I need to put a warning out there that I've never been a fan of the Sheraton Brand. There's something about it I've never liked. With that said, I’ll do my best to leave an honest review from my stay…

- Being a lifetime plt, I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite. As others have suggested, it was nice, however, a very odd room. It had a mini "kitchenette", meaning a full size fridge, with 2 built in hot plates and a sink. HOWEVER, it had NO dishes, or pots or anything to use. My guess, they were going to make this some type of vacation club, but didn't go that direction.

- I took a look at the “plunge pool” rooms. I would not pay for this room as an upgrade. The pool was 2 feet deep and very open to the property.

- The suite room was ok, nothing special, a good view, the lot on the north was empty, with some trash and the lot on the south had construction going on. Some type of villas or condos? I'm not sure which and I didn’t care to ask. So keep in mind there is construction going on right next door. At first glance, it almost feels like the construction is part of the Sheraton it’s sooo close.

- It appeared, IME, that this property is a "turn and burn" for Chinese/Korean bus tours. At breakfast each morning, there were a TON of Chinese/Korean tour people, coming and going from the breakfast area. I felt sorry for the breakfast room staff, the tour groups were very demanding and lacked social skills. My "ah-ha" moment was at the breakfast station, I saw a kid stick her entire hand in the bowl of candy sprinkles, pull it out with all the sprinkles stuck to her hand. At first I thought, how did all the sprinkles stick? Then she licked them off her hand and then proceeded to stick her hand back in...

- Speaking of breakfast, they had a great selection of local dishes, pho, sushi (which is behind glass for obvious reasons) western breakfast and other items. If you stay, get there as soon as it opens, cause once all start coming it’s going to turn into a nightmare, yelling, pushing, grabbing match.

- The restaurant near the pool was delicious. The food was really good. This is where you will also find “platinum” happy hour. You and a guest get 2 drinks a piece. The staff was probably the best on property here. They anticipated guests needs, they did a good job of managing all the kids and doing the best they could while running food from the kitchen. HOWEVER, the table next to us had a family with two kids. The one kid had caught two toads on property and was using a water bottle to hold it as a pet. Of course, he let it out to play around on the table.

- There was a kid ball pit area, play ground and what appeared to be a “day camp” for kids.

- The location is right in the middle of no where. Nothing around at all, so you’ll need to get a grab to go off property.

- The beach was ok, the sand was soft, minimal plastic or trash. We didn’t go in the ocean, however, I saw a few people in there.

- The cliental of “guests” that stay at this property are what I would consider mostly tour companies from China

- This property open around a year or so ago? At first glance it looks nice, but if you really dial in you can see where there is a ton of wear and tear already. Seems construction was very cheap or fast?

Finally, we stayed two nights here and then headed over to stay a few nights at the Hyatt Regency. Here’s the kicker, the Sheraton is 35k Marriott points a night (with no lounge on property). They were running a special for 32.5K, obviously as they weren’t full at all. The points rate, cat 5 and cash rate here are a rip off! The Hyatt is 15k points a night for a room, or 21k a night AND you get the lounge. If you have Chase points, it’s a no-brainer which one to choose.
