British Airways Rolls Out the Red Carpet in Jacksonville; Airline Celebrates Grand Opening of Its New U.S. Reservations Center
A long red carpet, traditional Beefeater guards and the cutting of a foot-wide ribbon will kick off the official opening festivities for British Airways' new U.S. telephone sales center in Jacksonville, Fla. Afterwards, champagne corks will pop as local leaders welcome the newest member of the city's burgeoning international business community. They will also get their first look at a leading-edge facility with a forward-thinking design unique in the airline industry.
Among those on hand for today's 1 p.m. event, which includes a reception and office tour, will be Michael Weinstein, executive director of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, Jerry Mallot, executive vice president of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, as well as David Noyes, British Airways' executive vice president of sales and marketing for North America and Worldwide Director of Sales Dale Moss, who flew in from London for the celebration.
