How many tier points for BA EC Gold?
I have heard differing opinions on this. As a UK EC member I needed 1700 points to earn Gold, 1200 to renew. I have heard (but not seen in writing) that 700 or 800 is enough in Europe. I could easily move my "address" to Italy or Canada. What's the deal outside the UK?

Any other advantages to "ex-pats"?
