The seats are only "blocked" to the channel that EF is using. They are not necessarily blocked in BA systems, although any individual seat may be shown by BA to an individual passenger as either available or unavailable depending on what BA wants to show them.
Isn't that an odd decision? What’s the point of BA publishing inaccurate data about their seat map?
