Air NZ also have options for 789's that they could get delivered before 2025 as well, and it would not surprise me if we saw that happen particularly if they do launch EWR within the next couple of years.
AirNZ's own press release (linked at the start of this thread) says that all the 772s "will be phased out by 2025". Not that all plans aren't subject to change, of course...

I agree that we might well see more 789s in the mix, though.
