That's true, though given how full this flight is - I don't think they would leave blocked seating in place on the chance of no show.

The seats are only "blocked" to the channel that EF is using. They are not necessarily blocked in BA systems, although any individual seat may be shown by BA to an individual passenger as either available or unavailable depending on what BA wants to show them.
Once Theoretical Seating kicks in, it's no longer possible to say in absolute terms that a seat is either available or blocked. The only certainties are seats that are occupied; off the top of my head I think that we collectively believe that EF accurately shows those in real time.
