Heathrow VIP Service / BA flights
Recent flights back from Riyadh, 3 each in BA and Saudia. Interesting to note that when I flew into LHR on Saudia, on every trip, I could see at least 3-4 black 7-series BMW's belonging to the Heathrow VIP service waiting next to the plane to escort certain passengers (all of whom were in business class) downstairs. While on the BA flights, no such cars were there (I kept an eye out while waiting for the jet bridge to attach), even for the F passengers (some of whom were also well-heeled nationals, who opted to walk to the train from the C-gates to "normal" immigration).
Seen them quite a lot on the Qatari flights as well, less so on Emirates and Etihad.
I was just curious to know why we don't see that many from the LHR VIP service meeting BA flights from the Gulf. Is it the general profile of the passenger that flies in each airline - i.e. the Saudis and Qataris flying their national airline prefer the private facilities? Interesting given that F tickets in BA are probably more expensive than these flights (definitely relative to Saudia, unclear on the others).
