Aside from the question above, what do you think of BA's process regarding lost luggage overall? Not sure if my expectations are too high, but as Gold/Silver members, flying in F it would have been nice to receive a call or some other sign from BA during those 21 days
From experience, don't count on a call or anything. I was calling BA ~3-times per week for 4 weeks to try and locate my bag.
Took about ~3 months from day of flight until compensation was paid. All items I did not have original receipt for were paid at 50% value... items I had receipt for (I buy a lot of clothes online and have the email statement) were reimbursed 100%, same for the price of the bag. My travel insurance was able to top up to full-value, but took an additional ~2 months.
I also returned to LHR lost baggage ~15 days after the luggage was lost (on a separate flight) and did speak with the baggage manager there who was (extremely helpful and) able to search the facility and ensure my claim was accurate, as the original claim had been entered by inaccurately by OSL baggage claim. Not sure if you can do the same given your location.
