Completely.
I used to travel a lot in J and F. My employer would pay.
I have to say, that I became very fed up with staff mates getting preferential treatment compared to us mere mortals who had paid real money.
The most obvious case was once when 2 staff mates had been put in F, Sin - LHR, and received much better treatment than anyone else in f. Paid or not.
It did not improve BA's image. I fully understand that staff get goodies. Good for them. Keep it as staff goodies, and keep it quiet, would be my view.
Indeed, one of my ex-colleagues was an ex-BA LH captain. He refused all upgrades and any other attempts to treat him better than folks who paid fares.
I seem to remember reading somewhere (the "ask a staffer" thread?) that those travelling on staff perks are expected to keep low-profile and low-maintenance - take last choice of meals, never ask for a new bottle of wine / bubbly to be opened, etc. Am I dreaming?
