Happy Bank Holiday Monday.

One of my siblings (a pilot) has accepted a command wit with BA (long haul). I was wondering if this means I can turn left more without careful use of Avios/ 241 bookings (cash booking into lower class on dates / times / routes that suit). Does anyone know the official BA upgrade perk policy (or unofficial practise).
