Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh

What is your Rewards Club status? Spire Elite and Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? King Deluxe, upgraded to a Corner King Spa (no higher room classes were available)

How are the rooms? The corner rooms have a huge bathroom that takes up about half of the length of the room, with a very long hallway and closet outside. The bed area is somewhat cozy but not too cramped. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a view of the church next door and a bit of the alley (so, not much of a view at all). The bells of the church rang often on Sunday morning, so sleeping in was not an option.

[if you are Spire]

How was your complimentary welcome amenity? No formal welcome amenity as a non-Inner Circle member, but we did get a nice surprise in conjunction with the Secret Password.

Did you raid the minibar? Yes, Chili Lime Cashews and a gourmet chocolate bar ($12 in total).

Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive? N/A

Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value? N/A

What was good and what was bad? The front desk staff was outstanding and treated us exceptionally well with very personalized service. I had let them know we would be arriving early and they made sure our room was ready for us to check in. The location was very convenient to the 28X Express Bus to/from the airport and walking distance to PNC Park and The Strip district. The only bad things were small elevators, no view from the room, and the church bells on Sunday morning (these are all minor quibbles).

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? The room rates for a holiday weekend were not that bad and considering the royal treatment we received, we will certainly stay again.
