Order of importance for me are:
1). Clean and well-kept.
2). Location (spending time in Palo Alto, Mtn View, Cupertino, Campbell and Daly City)
3). Peaceful... not a magnet for loud guests, tons of kids and school teams (like how most Embassy Suites are)
4). Whatever breakfast that's provided free to Diamond is high-quality.
5). Treats Diamond well.

DT San Jose - Extremely close to SJC, and also across the street from Casino M8trix if gambling is your thing. Older property, relatively well kept. Really not much around here or is walk-able. Think wedding reception.
Hilton San Jose - I personally dislike DT San Jose as the area isn't the most clean, and easy to end up in semi-sketchy areas. I wouldn't call DT San Jose city, but the most city feel of the lot.
DT Campbell - Most peaceful location of the group, walk-able to downtown Campbell with a number of local eateries and the like. Suburbia feel, but isn't very modern.
Curio Cupertino - Think this used to be a Kimpton?. Nice location, extremely safe. Tons of local eateries (particularly Asian) near the area, modern feel.
Hilton Santa Clara - Right next to Great America and near Levi Stadium. Very clean smack in the middle of a row of SV businesses. Unfortunately also next to the Santa Clara convention center. Can be a absolute nightmare when events are happening. Well kept and clean, easy access to 237 or 101.
Hilton or DT in Burlingame just south of SFO. - Far from all your south bay locations. Easy access to SFO but a nightmare to drive down to the South Bay depending on time of day.
All that said, I'd go for Curio. I'd avoid Hilton SJ or DT SJ unless something above appeals to you. Good luck with your trip.
