Credit Card is accepted for any JR fare, at the staffed ticket counter, including 180 yen commuter ticket. Obviously it's a waste of time to line up for such a ticket. I don't know if they give you funny looks.

But with SUICA Apple Pay, no need to line up and pay any fare with CC.
