What exactly do you mean exactly by beginning and end of summer? We will be doing a 3-month trip in the US from mid-June to mid-September and will probably be around Dallas end of July, beginning of August! Haven't done any accommodation research yet...
I just called the Mansion hotel to get an updated completion date and they hope for a completed renovation by early Fall (mid to late September). I was told the top floor (9th) is complete and consists mostly of suite accommodations.
The (currently under construction) Loews Hotel in Arlington, TX shows it accepts reservations beginning on 27 August.
My reference to summer was for the months of June, July, and August... pretty HOT during that time! Have a wonderful trip.
