AA gives me a 5 character PNR that does not work - I was told last time that AA codeshares are held in a separate DB and only merged into the IB DB at the last moment. (I have no idea if this is accurate or not.) I was able to select a seat (initially) via AA site, but I really wanted to very INTL doc info and select a meal. Anyone know if this is possible for AA codeshare?
Operating PNRs on IB reside in RESIBER, which uses a five alpha-numeric locator. These do not work on iberia.com. It is Iberia's own host system. Once you have selected a seat via a deep link from aa.com, you can't change it (via the same process). You need to call IB to effect any changes if you only have the RESIBER number. An AA codeshare won't generate an Amadeus PNR for IB. To tell you the truth, even having an Amadeus number, which is recognized by iberia.com, does not always help with seat (re)assignments.
