Thanks. Yeah, a fair amount on this issue, but everyone seems to be able to work around it by calling in. I'll try again in a day or two. It was a frustrating call and I wasn't anxious to do it again.
AA can't do anything -- they can't even see the BA/IB locator.
Edit: Ok, actually AA can see the IB locator.
Anyway, thanks everyone. I tried again. Very long hold and he was finally able to confirm seats! Though he didn't say it, I got the sense there might be something a little wonky going on with the ticket. I think he fixed that and then was able to select seats. Just going by the way he was sort of handling the problem, I asked if he could see the ticket numbers in the reservation and to confirm that we were ready to fly. He didn't treat that as a crazy question and the tone of his answer suggested to me that perhaps he had actually cleaned something up, so I'm glad I called.
