It depends on the style you want: wild late nightlife or not? Do you want to be in the middle of a youngish backpacker crowd or among somewhat more matured people. I'd also consider location carefully as traffic can be terrible in Bali. Also, do you want to be able to walk to restaurants etc. in town or would you prefer to stay in a resort compound? (This applies to Ubad too.)
we are in our late 20’s and engaged. Not really interested in the party scene but I don’t really have a problem staying in that sort of area.
probably a little more upscale then the backpacking crowd though.
would like it to be a good base to avoid some of the traffic and reduce travel time for sightseeing.
trying to understand the best location is the entire reason for this post. I’ve read some many articles but they all contradict each other in the best place to stay.
we are looking for the best location to base Ourselves in southern Bali while we are exploring the island.
I initially wanted to stay at the Conrad but the location doesn’t seem to fit what we want. Seems like more of a stay on the resort location.
Since we we are doing 4 days in Ubud which area would compliment that to see the other parts of Bali.
I live in the caribbean 9 months a year so the beach isn’t all that important but it would still be nice to relax 1-2 days but the other 2 days we would like to see what Bali has to offer.
