Well if it's just you and I having a beer together and chatting for the fun of it on a slow day, I would say that someone "rich" would possibly not book the lowest room category (the beach villa) for $1500 per night when the overwater is $2000 per night, in the Maldives of all places. Others might say that anybody not rich would not travel to the Maldives, full stop.
I have not looked at his IG but on his website I could only find a comparison between St.Regis Maldives and Raffles Maldives so I was not completely sure I understood correctly that it was 7 resorts in the Maldives in 2019 so far. It would be great to know what the other 5 are and how they stack up.
Waldorf Astoria opens in July and I will try it later this year to compare with St.Regis but my comparison will be limited to 2, although I would love to visit 7.
