Reviving this, as I had a question. If you have Hertz Gold Plus from the Amex Plat but are picking up from a location without Ultimate Choice (ABQ or SAF), how do upgrades work? Do you still get a choice, but a smaller selection? I don't think I need a premium car, but would like to choose a Jetta or something similarly fun to drive in the midsize range.
