New to Alaska; I have Hawaii flight questions...

We're new to Alaska Air but with direct SMF (our home airport) to KOA flights (at least for now), I snagged an Alaska Air credit card and we'll be looking at subbing out Alaska for our usual Hawaiian Air travels there (plus we have family in Boise and Alaska has directs there as well...). First trip is next week and I paid extra for the "premium" seats for the extra room.

I know most of you here on the forum are high-mileage folks with Alaska, but I'll likely never reach that status so I may be asking at the wrong place since you don't usually fly the main cabin. But, perhaps *someone* has some experience in that region of the plane (!) and can share with me any experience notes or tips for flying in the premium seating on a Pacific flight.

--Will I have a problem carrying my tenor-size ukulele as carry-on? I've never had an issue on Hawaiian Air or Southwest with this instrument as carry-on and stowing it above my seat.

--I booked the tickets for husband and myself from my Alaska Air mileage account, including each of our Known Traveler Numbers for the TSA-Pre. Will we be able to use electronic boarding passes on our individual phones for boarding and TSA? When booking this way on SWA, I must request a split PNR ahead of time or the option for electronic boarding passes is not available... If not and I have to split the PNR ahead of time, will this affect his ability to have his suitcase included free at ticketing with my use of the credit card?

--Is the Alaska Air app decent and worth the download?

--Any suggestions for which of the "meals" to purchase in flight? Are some less than desirable?

Mahalo!
