The hotel I stayed at in January gave me an open ended registration. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm still registered at its PSB. This isn't really a concern for me because my residence permit trumps police station registration.
As a matter of practice, most hotels don't register guests every single night, and many guests choose to extend their stays. That having been said, I'm not sure how many hotels are willing to write open ended registration forms. (I don't have a great deal of knowledge in this area because my January stay was the only time I ever requested a print out of the form.)
