Survey: Who has 2 or more types of AMEX Canada (non-business) Platinum cards? Why?
I have both. I like the AMEX Platinum card for AMEX lounge access - AMEX Plaza Premium in Canada, AMEX Centurion in USA (which allows one to use it as an arrivals lounge as well) and the Priority Pass (free access to such lounges for cardholder and one guest).
I also like that the new MR earning rate for travel related purchases is 2 MR for CAD$1 spent. Conversion Rate is I MR = I Aeroplan mile.
For the AMEX Aeroplan (Aeroplus) Platinum card - main benefit is for non-travel purchases 1.25 MR points per Canadian dollar spent for first CAD$25,000 spent per year, and then 1.50 MR points for every dollar beyond CAD$25,000. Again, MR points can be converted 1:1 to Aeroplan miles.
