I just use the AC closest to my gate. Haven't been to the new DFW FL, but while they are nice, I wouldn't go out of the way. Most of the food looks better on the blogs that it actually tastes. I always prefer to be at the AC closer to my gate so I don't have to worry about getting there too late because of some shuttle delay or too early because i left too much time. YMMV
The OP has a
5 hour layover. Even if clearing Immigration and CBP takes an hour, they still have 4 hours. The AA Flagship Lounges are considerably nicer than any domestic AC, by a country mile. As some others have suggested, spend a few hours at the FL, and then perhaps head to the AC at the terminal of one's departing flight to mitigate any potential delays in the terminal to terminal connections.
