I've used both and prefer SJC (if the price is right) as it's much more convenient for Silicon Valley. The only downside is that if you are not GE the immigration queue can build up quickly depending on where you are sat on the plane, I was in a queue where only one agent was processing all the non-US/non-GE. Also had a bad experience last time leaving, checkin systems were down and they were processing manually, we were nearly 3 hours late arriving back home (2 hours of which were sat on the plane with minimal information while they tried to reconcile POB). But overall I'd recommend it.
