I was looking at the First Hawaiian Bank Website and noticed that they have an add on their website for a United MasterCard, with some pretty attractive offer, 30,000 bonus miles for $1500 in spends, 2 free checked bags, and 2x miles on gas and groceries. In some ways this very nicely compliments the Chase Explorer Card. It was my understanding that the FHB United Card was restricted to just Guam residents. However I no longer see such a restriction, does anyone know if any U.S. resident is eligible for this card and offer?

On the application, the only states it allows for selection when you input your address are Hawaii, Guam and CMNI. So I am inferring that means you must be a resident of one of those to apply and it’s not open to the rest of the US. And the United card offer only shows up under the Guam and CNMI tabs. I bank with FHB and when I select the ‘Hawaii’ tab, it doesn’t give me the United card offer. I have had the FHB United card years ago so it has been open to Hawaii residents in the past. I’m not sure though, if one would get the bonus applying under the Guam tab but selecting Hawaii as their state of residence. I suspect you would but I’m not willing to test it out.
