My own carry-on is 47x35x21, which is just under their limit - but I'm sure the bags I seen people bring are significantly larger.

Certainly with the connection at Perth I find it helpful to only have carry-on, so would like to take more if I can be sure it won't be moved to the hold.

Does anyone have any idea of what I could reasonably take, as the official guide I linked doesn't seem to be the reality.
