Local grocery store opened less than a month ago, Verifone MX pinpads with four dots (1 green/3 white) on the screen with tap direction. Tap Amex physical card and it says EMV Contactless with AID and all on receipt, tap my Gear S3 for Samsung Pay on the card, it says Entry Method: Swiped. Could be one register was configured for EMV contactless and the other not but I doubt it. Also the Gear S3 has MST but the antenna was nowhere near the swipe reader.
Apple Pay supports EMV contactless with AmEx. Last I checked, the others didn't, but this could have changed recently. (Note that you have to remove and re-add cards for EMV to take effect, if that actually did get rolled out for the other mobile wallets.)
