It is mentioned because Arlanda has 2 non Schengen areas in T5 that are not connected. The F gates and gates 11 to 24. it is possible to enter Schengen and walk accross. If OP does not have a Schengen visa, or want to avoid two times passport control, there is the option to take a bus between the two.
