Definitely one of DL's more convoluted benefits. You read the wiki right that KL Z space is indicative of GUC space, with the big caveat that that only applies to KL metal (because the GUCs there basically rebook you into KL Z).
And yes, they definitely do sell those seats at last minute. Both through direct sales as well as buy-up offers to anyone willing to pay. Given the flight length, lots of people are willing to pay.
