Window shade etiquette is an example of a contentious issue that you're never going to get mass agreement on. But never reusing a plate in a "buffet" (i.e. MLL) is something I had simply never considered as a problem until reading about it on FT. And now I don't do it. All because of "anonymous" complaints here.
So I disagree with you. Just because someone doesn't have the confidence to approach me directly, or talk to an employee about me, doesn't mean they shouldn't voice their opinions here. If the opinion is reasonable, and others agree, and I agree, you'll likely see a change in my behavior.
Not arguing they shouldn't voice their opinions but I'm equally free to disregard their petty gripes and carry on as planned. Seriously what difference does it make if I reuse a plate in the ML? I typically don't but it's hardly an earth-shattering event if someone else does.
I tend to ignore people's behavior in my immediate vicinity unless it impacts on me directly. So if you are kicking my seat we'll have words. If you put your feet on the bulkhead, are not wearing socks or I spot you clipping your nails two aisles over I genuinely don't give a damn and would gain no emotional satisfaction from posting about it here.
