From the hotel.........

I received your comments concerning your recent visit to our property. I do apologize if you feel that we treated you unfairly but unfortunately Starwood policy dictates that we need to ask for a picture I.D. from every guest checking in. Please understand that in order to remain compliant with that standard we need to do this with every single guest that is checking in. The Guest Service Agent on duty that night would have been in trouble had she checked you in without an I.D., especially if it had been an inspection.
The reason that Starwood has made this mandatory is for the security of our guests. We do not require a signature or any paperwork to be filled out at check in. So as a security measure we check I.D.'s to ensure it matches the name on the credit card. With so much identity theft occurring in recent times, this is what we do to try and prevent that from occurring at our properties.
Please feel free to respond to me if you have any further questions or comments.
