If this happens, I think i wont be getting the elite night credit. Is there a way to go about this? I will not be checking in.
This usually works in USA, but looks like India is a different story?
For a night to count as an elite night on your Marriott Bonvoy account, you must personally pay for and stay in the room.
If you do something that Marriott considers to be cheating, Marriott Bonvoy can cancel your accumulated points, suspend your benefits, suspend your elite status, and suspend your lifetime status. In short, there's a big risk, and it's not worth it.
The actual Terms & Conditions have more details than what I just wrote. You might want to look at the applicable parts of the
Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program Terms & Conditions.
One of the guests actually staying in the room could open a Marriott Bonvoy account and use Marriott.com to make reservations. That would provide free WiFi.
