I think that the fault really lies with you. Sorry but if you really are Gold at British Airways, I am surprised that we have not heard from you before, and that you do not know who to call tol try and put matters right.

Pucci,

Yes I really am BA Gold. I'd be happy to PM my membership number to you. I currently have 1550 BA tier points and 195K miles and you HAVE heard from me before supporting the ground crew in the possible inustrial action.

Let me explain in detail what happened. I had a fully flexible BA fare in club from Dublin to Moscow. Once my travel plans were fixed I cancelled this and changed to a business inflexible fare. All this was done online so BA can see the sequence of events. I made a mistake, I should be more careful, but I booked a return on September 19 rather that August 19. The fare is the same for both dates. I'm sorry I made the error but reported it to BA within 12 hours.

On your point about *Alliance both bmi and LH have indicated they would be flexible under these circumstances which as bmi Gold and LH Senator I'd expect. In fact as a member of the public I'd expect this service level even if I had no status at all- particularly as my Visa shows I could not be in Russia beyond the end of August. Clearly BA Gold, and I really am one (!) counts fpr nothing. As a regular BAflyer I expect a reasonable level of sevice. The booking staff accept I made a mistake but have to charge me.

Well I'm back to *Alliance and the Airline has lost £35K+ fares from me a year.
