I have a question.

I just got a Chase Sapphire Reserve. It's my first Sapphire card!

I'm curious about Purchase Protection. I called to ask Chase, but I'm not sure whether the answer I got is accurate or not. I know that "Used and Pre-owned" items are excluded from Purchase Protection. But on the phone, I was told that if the thing I'm buying (in this case a pre-owned tablet from eBay) still has the manufacturer's warranty on it, then the item is considered by Chase to be "new" and not "used." Does that sound correct? Or was I given the wrong info? Basically, I'm looking at a slightly used item from eBay, that's basically brand new, and is still covered under the original warranty.
I wanted to ask you guys whether it would be covered before making the purchase.
