I too had the pathetic excuse for a sweet option last week on LHR-EDI. It took me precisely 37 seconds to eat it at normal pace (I timed it). The savoury option on the way back was no better.

Its quite simple. Either cater, or don't cater (and let people buy food onboard), but DON'T pretend you cater and then deliver pathetic portions of food that the cabin crew are embarrassed to hand out (I asked).
