i was really lucky and surprised at this. i had actually put in a bid to upgrade to biz with the plusgrade tool. (450 dollars, not accepted.) -upon arrival at the airport i tried to see if i could get a free seat next to me in economy and they told me they had oversold. i offered to pay for an upgrade but they quoted me 1k. i really had not expected this upgrade as i travel on my turkish air *G / it was my very first 'gate upgrade' so i was pretty chuffed.
