But Yelp is even less reliable as a measure of quality than TripAdvisor IMO. I’ve never used or even considered a ranking on Yelp. I’ve read a review here or there to get a sense of dress code, but that’s it. Sorry.
I should have known that was coming! I agree that Yelp and TA are not great sources. However, when a restaurant or hotel is ranked sufficiently low enough, it raises red flags. 3 stars on Yelp is shockingly poor. It should raise eyebrows because good restaurants simply don't get 3 stars. 3.5 and above and it's all noise (much like 4 stars and up on TA and it's all noise).
