I stayed at both Doubletree and Hilton Sukhumvit two weeks ago. No complaints from either. As diamond I got upgrades at both properties with a standard room booked. The upgrade at the doubletree was a one bedroom suite which was nice. The upgrade at the hilton was an upgrade to an exec room.

I actually like the idea of drinks around the pool at the Doubletree. More relaxed than a lounge. But everyone has their own preference about these sort of things. The lounge at the hilton was fine, but nothing special. But I don't travel to BKK to eat a free evening meal cobbled together from bits and pieces in a lounge like some people.
