I get what you are saying. But...

There are lots of reasons to take a window seat.

Not needing to get up. Leaning against the wall. Sleeping. The hope that nobody sits in the middle seat. Not having to hand drinks to your seatmate. Not getting the back of your seat grabbed by the 40th person on their way to the lav. The ability to keep the shade pulled in hopes of forgetting that we’re 30,000 feet above the earth.

If having the window shade open is that important to you, then you should probably choose the window seat.
