For Armenia: yes, I would agree with that. No problem at all in Yerevan. I would not want to be entirely without cash in more rural areas even though quite a few shops will take cards. OTOH, if you use BnBs/small local hotels at the cheaper end of the scale, there could be more issues.
Can't comment on Georgia.
