Hi, all,

I stayed in a Sheraton in Bamako, Mali for almost four months recently but only received 2x Bonvoy rewards on my Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card (it should have been 6X. I called customer service and they informed me that the hotel was not one of the "participating hotels". However, they could not tell me how a hotel becomes "participating". I ask because i am returning to the hotel soon and will be staying there again for a few months, and 6x that many nights is sure better then 2x. I also ask because the hotel is quite new, and the West African crew there is kinda clueless when it comes to various SPG rules and policies and I am some other Americans have had to gently coach them on their own policies.
