That is strange. I flew to BKK last Apr 4 via PVG (in J) with China Eastern Airlines. At check-in, the agent gave my husband (DL SkyMiles Gold/ST Elite+) and myself (FB Plat) two invitations for the AF Lounge.

In the lounge, it was not an AF staff checking us in, but a Chinese agent. She asked me and my hubby for the invitations. I said we don’t have them and showed instead my FB Plat card. As for my hubby, he showed his DL Gold/ST Elite+ and the agent, although grumpy because she had to do some extra inputs on the computer rather than just lazily collecting the invitations, let us both in.

It was for us a question of principles, as we wanted to get admittance into the lounge as ST Elite+ (and for me, a native AF Plat client).

Financially, it also meant that the lounge didn't get to charge MU for the two admission tickets, but instead Flying Blue and Delta SkyMiles, but heck, we earned our status so it’s nice the FFPs are paying back in return. 😁

With all that being said, our MU flight was rather late (1:45am) and all the lounge pax were on the MU flight, no AF pax at all. It’s surprising that MU now invites the J/F pax and its Elite pax to the AZ lounge instead of AF. Maybe it changed recently.

Cheers,
