I'd made this mistake the 1st time had the cIHG ard when the cert posted in May. The next time I applied for the card 1st-2nd week of September so I can get 1 year in advance for summer stays. Now looks like it would have been better to have May since my next certs are the restricted 40K points ones that will post in September.
Now that you have already applied for the card, there isn't anything I am aware of that you can do to change the cadence of when the certs post.
