I flew MIA/PHL yesterday morning. Y was oversold by 10 so I was rolled forward to F. Your chances are good, but don't be surprised if emailing gets you nowhere. You need to call AAdvantage Customer Service (not the normal reservations number).
I've had stickers pulled before for companions for op-ups, and AAdvantage Customer Service has always reinstated them without any fight.
