Eats in Wrigley Field
Went the other day with some clients who LOVE to eat, so we tried many different things at Wrigley.
Hebrew National (Kosher) hot dog – very good, but not near as good as the Best Kosher dogs at White Sox
Armor Hot dogs – skip them, the Hebrew National are far better
Wrigley Pig Sandwich – pork patty sandwich w/sauteed onions and BBQ sauce. 1st, virtually no sauce, 2nd two lone strands of sauteed onions, 3rd was the patty was inedible, tasted terrible (this coming from a few of us that did not mind the McDonald’s McRib sandwich)
Eisenberg Brat – If you have not had or don’t get to make your own brats (parboiling in beer then grilling) the Eisenberg brat will be considered ok, but if you do get to prepare your own at home then this precooked brat will not be good to you.
Philly Cheesesteak – cheesesteak is supposed to be very thinly sliced beef w/cheese. This sandwich consisted of two slabs (1/3”) of beef patty, with a couple strands of sauteed onion and pepper placed on the sandwich. There was no cheese. HORRIBLE.
Eisenberg Smokey Link – The best “dog” we had all day. Very smokey flavor, good bite.
Pizza Puff – hey, gooey cheese, hot tomato sauce, sausage and fried dough, what is not to like?!!??
Fish Sandwich – no tatar sauce, was warm at best. Terrible.
Eisenberg Polish – not too shabby. Again, if you get to have the better ones in the city, this will be only ok, but if not, you’ll probably like this one.
Planter’s ice cream sandwich – too soft almost melted, sandwich was smashed, chocolate was mediocre, still can’t decide what the ice cream was trying to be. A ½ dozen halves of peanuts on the top. Very poor.
There were awnings stating Mexican food, but the only “Mexican” food we could find were Nachos.
The best items at Wrigley were the Scala Italian Beef sandwiches or Scala Italian Sausage sandwices.
