I'd figure it's just the "standard configuration" they're going with. Also if they also use that station for ringing up customers they probably want it where the rest of them are.
From what I could tell, it was used only for takeout orders. (I was there much longer than I wanted for a takeout order.) Keeping things standard sounds reasonable as well.
