The hotel is new as a Hampton but wasn't really a new build. The building was a very dodgy Days Inn (I think, not 100% sure of the brand) for a while, then was vacant for a few years before it was reinvented as the Hampton it is now.
Some useless trivia about this property: it was originally built as the Bel-Air East hotel (in 1963). At various times in its history it has been a Days Inn and a Ramada Inn, before being totally reconstructed to become a Hampton Inn at the cost of more than $20 million.
